Gameplay Modes, Brainstorming Co-op

As I flesh out the pri­mary cam­paign game­play mode (and the rest of the high-level design) for C:SO, I’ve been throw­ing around the whole ‘coop’ idea. Adding coop is some­thing that I’m very inter­ested in doing with C:SO, how­ever the chal­lenge is deter­min­ing the best way to fac­tor this into the over­all design.

Basic Multiplayer Framework

So some­thing that I’ve been work­ing on in my ‘day job’ is an improved mul­ti­player tem­plate for GameCore devel­op­ers. The old tem­plate was func­tional — in that it allowed a basic mul­ti­player game to be cre­ated, but it didn’t include any kind of stan­dard frame­work for chang­ing maps, etc as we were expect­ing that users would be look­ing to add that kind of stuff their­selves depen­dent on their per­sonal game’s design.

SO, seems like that assump­tion was wrong, most users would either have us setup the basic frame­work or at least pro­vide a start­ing point that is a bit closer to the end point ;}
